Description:
The National Kick-Off is the first in a series events in multiple cities around the US designed to lift up America’s less fortunate. Each event combines the generosity of companies, the caring of college and professional sports teams, and grass-roots effectiveness of charitable agencies.
During the National Kick-Off, hundreds of families and charitable agencies will arrive at historic Pier 92 to receive much needed assistance. Lenscrafters will be there to test and fit kids for glasses. The Starkey Hearing Foundation will give away free hearing aids to deserving kids. Tyson Foods and other generous companies will have 7 truckloads of protein and other food items to address the challenge of hunger.
Members of the New York Giants football team will be there to lend a hand and meet some of their fans.
The Navy will provide an impressive backdrop with the USS San Antonio and navy personnel will assist with the distributions.
Schedule:
8:00 AM - Volunteers report to their stations
9:00 AM - Set up distribution lines
10:00 AM - Press Conference: Mayor and other distinguished guests address the crowd
11:00 AM - Food distribution begins
12:00 AM - Giants players meet and greet fans
2:00 PM - Tour of the USS San Antonio
4:00 PM - Fianl call for chairitable agencies
5:00 PM - Clean up begins
