Lift Up America: Working Together

Greetings from Lift Up America!

Thousands of leaders and volunteers have come together to make LUA events successful. Each brings a unique contribution and perspective to their involvement.

Spencer Tillman - CBS Sports Analyst and former NFL player

On why he is involved with LUA - "At the end of the day it's all about doing what should be done in America. The key is: Capture back again all the things that make us special as a nation - and it begins with giving."

Lisa Abbott - Housewife and producer of Meet Me in Miami

On why she donated the use of her movie to the LUA entertainment events - "I believe that all of us have something to give, whether it be a smile or a hug, a word of encouragement, a movie, a hearing aid, or eyeglasses. And I have the movie, and I thought, what a great opportunity!"

Lee Roy Mitchell - Chairman of the Board of Cinemark USA, Inc.

On his involvement with the LUA movie premieres - "I think it's a great event and a great cause. Not only do I want our theatres involved, I want all of our employees involved, and that's what we're doing."

Drew Moor - FC Dallas (MLS) soccer player, starting defender

On interacting with kids at a LUA event - "I'm doing what I love - playing soccer as a job. To see the happy faces on these kids when they see me. It's unbelievable to think that they look up to me when I feel just like a normal person. It's nice just to be able to give back a little bit." (Photo by Rick Yeatts)

Michael Donahue - President, Donahue Trust Management and Former Chief Communications Officer, McDonald's

On corporate giving through LUA - “It’s a great way for companies to give back to the communities that they live in, that they work in, that they serve. It is a great way for them to help those in need, to make a statement about their brand, and in today’s world I think more and more people are looking for this kind of help from their companies.”
